How Do Mutations Stack in Grow a Garden?
Mutations in Grow a Garden add together instead of multiplying. Shocked (100x) plus Celestial (120x) gives a combined multiplier of 219x, not 12,000x.
What is the mutation stacking formula?
Start with 1. For each mutation on the crop, add its multiplier minus 1. The final number is the combined mutation multiplier.
The variant (Normal, Silver, Gold or Rainbow) is not part of this sum. It multiplies the result separately, and only one variant applies to a crop.
What are some example combinations?
| Mutations | Working | Combined |
|---|---|---|
| Wet | 1 + 1 | 2x |
| Wet + Shocked | 1 + 1 + 99 | 101x |
| Shocked + Celestial | 1 + 99 + 119 | 219x |
| Shocked + Celestial + Voidtouched | 1 + 99 + 119 + 134 | 353x |
How does a variant change the result?
The variant multiplies the whole mutation total. A Rainbow crop (50x) with Shocked and Celestial has a total multiplier of 50 × 219 = 10,950x, before weight, quantity and boosts.
Why does adding a mutation matter less than people expect?
Because mutations add, the first strong mutation does most of the work. Adding Wet (2x) to a Shocked crop moves the multiplier from 100x to 101x. Adding Celestial instead moves it from 100x to 219x. Choosing a high-multiplier mutation matters far more than collecting many small ones.
